24 May 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the signing by Pope Francis of Laudato Si’, the ground-breaking encyclical on climate change and our common home.
Laudato Si’ week (24 May – 31 May) is once again a reminder of Pope Francis’ call to “hear the cry of the poor and the cry of the Earth” (LS 49) and to remember that “everything is connected” (LS 139).
In Australia, Laudato Si’ Week is commemorated between May 16 and May 24. These dates are different from the dates promoted internationally to enable us to fully celebrate National Sorry Day (May 26) and National Reconciliation Week (May 27 – June 3).
Resources for celebrating the tenth anniversary of Laudato Si’ can be found on the Laudato Si’ Week website and on the Laudato Si’ Movement website.
