The Climate Summit will take place in Belém on 6 and 7 November

The event will gather world leaders, ministers and representatives of international organizations to discuss how to tackle the climate crisis through fair and sustainable energy transitions, as well as forest and biodiversity conservation.

The Belém Climate Summit, scheduled for November 6–7, 2025, will bring together heads of state and government, ministers, and leaders of international organizations to address the primary challenges and commitments for combating climate change.

Convened by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the Summit marks a central milestone in the process of international mobilization and dialogue on the global climate agenda. Immediately following the Summit, the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) will take place in Belém from November 10 to 21, 2025.

Hosting the Summit in the Brazilian Amazon carries profound symbolism. The region, considered essential to the planet’s climate balance, will serve as the stage for a high-level environmental meeting for the first time. This also marks the first time a COP has been held in a rainforest.
