In order to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity, the United Nations celebrates the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) on May 22. This year’s theme, “Acting locally for global impact”, aims to focus on implementing effective action to support biodiversity.
The IDB 2026 campaign will help connect local initiatives with the 23 global targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF), focusing the world’s attention on the importance of applying the whole-of-society approach adopted within the Framework.
