 On 29 July, 2021, following a two year discernment process, the Global Catholic Climate Movement changed its name to the Laudato Si' Movement, outlining its new objectives as it begins a new phase of its work. The updated Mission Statement takes its cue from Pope Francis’ landmark encyclical on care for our common home: 'To inspire and mobilize the Catholic community to care for our common home and achieve climate and ecological justice.'
