Season of Creation

The celebration of the Season of Creation will begin on Monday, September 1 and end on Saturday, October 4, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. In this special season, all people of goodwill are called to a global response of prayer and action to protect and care for our common home.

In this Jubilee year of Hope, in this time of escalating global challenges of wars, climate change, poverty and hunger,  the 2025 season’s theme fittingly is Peace with Creation.

The symbol for this year, seen in the logo, is the Garden of Peace, inspired by Isaiah 32:14-18 where the prophet portrays a desolate creation, devoid of peace due to injustice and the broken relationship between God and humankind. Isaiah’s hope and ours is that Creation will find peace when justice is restored.

Let us all continue to pray and work for peace and justice.
