Working Together: China and the US Pledge to Cut Emissions

In a joint statement released on 10 November, the United States and China, the two largest world economies, have pledged to work together on "enhancing climate action in the 2020s". US climate envoy John Kerry and his Chinese counterpart Xie Zhenhua announced the framework agreement at COP26. "With respect to COP 26", they said "both countries support an ambitious, balanced, and inclusive outcome on mitigation, adaptation, and support." (#12)
